Raury joins movement for the oceans

Following in the footsteps of kindred spirit Pharrell Williams, wunderkind Raury aligns with G-Star RAW for the Oceans. Embarking this summer on his first European festival tour, kicking off in Portugal at NOS Alive, the eclectic musician will support the cause by ‘wearing the responsibility’ for big blue.
Made using recycled ocean plastic, RAW for the Oceans is an initiative creating collections (co-designed by Pharrell Williams) that demonstrate how desirable and sustainable products can be made with a built in purpose. Now in its third season, the project has retrieved and transformed the equivalent of 2 million plastic bottles.
As an ‘indigo child’ expressing himself, a term he uses to define the observant and conscious youth of today who seek a better way of life while being in tune with the natural world. As well as the title of his 2014 debut mixtape, Raury shares values with the cause and the collection’s innovative (indigo) denim, befitting his new role as a spokesmodel.
“As songwriter, a producer, an instrumentalist – I’m a storyteller. And the severity of ocean pollution is a story I want to tell.”
RAW for the Oceans supporters will have the chance to win tickets for them and a friend to see Raury live at one of his European shows – plus a backstage meet-and-greet with the indigo child himself. From 1st – 14th July, those who purchase a piece from the RAW for the Oceans collection at participating stores*, can enter the prize draw.
